University of Massachusetts Boston
The University of Massachusetts Boston is a research university located on the Columbia Point peninsula in the city of Boston. Founded in 1964, UMass Boston merged with Boston State College as part of the Greater Boston Urban Education Collaborative.
The institution has 11 departments and offers more than 80 degree programs, among the most popular are Business, Health and Social Sciences. As part of its research initiative, UMass Boston is a partner of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, IBM, Sanofi and Genzyme and has received funding worth $63.7 million.
The $182 million Integrated Sciences Complex houses research labs, teaching labs and other centers. The institution opened a 1,000-bed residential complex in the fall of 2018, allowing students to live on campus for the first time.
