Gradeup played a super important role in the reflection phase to choose what to study for my master's. There are so many options and many of them I had never even heard of!! It took a few conversations to figure out the course that best fit my profile and interest. To my surprise, I was accepted by all 3 universities I applied to – Bath, Exeter, and York. I chose York and I don't regret it!

Sending an application abroad, making the decision of which university to attend, and even getting a visa to enter another country is all very intimidating. Frankly, it's hard not to be scared. Because of this, and other reasons too, Gradeup was essential for me to be able to complete this entire process. Besides, any other doubt or request that arose was quickly answered by the team. I will never forget the support of this company.

A university consultancy is a specialized service that accompanies the student through all stages of the application process to universities abroad — from analyzing the academic profile, choosing courses and universities, preparing documents like the personal statement and recommendation letters, completing applications, providing guidance on scholarships, to pre-departure support. Gradeup offers this service in a personalized way, with experienced consultants in the international market. Gradeup TravelMate brings together over 20 years of experience in the international university advisory market.
The most sought-after destinations by Brazilians are the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada, as well as countries in Europe and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand). Each destination has its own characteristics in terms of the educational system, cost of living, visa possibilities, and the job market. There is no universally "best" destination — our job is to identify the ideal combination of institution, country, and the profile and goals of each student. Gradeup consultants analyze each case individually to recommend the options that truly make sense for you.
Costs vary considerably and depend on several factors: the destination country, whether the city is a capital or a smaller town, the institution's profile, and whether the student has access to scholarships. That is why we do not usually work with fixed price ranges — they tend to be more intimidating than useful and rarely reflect the reality of each case. It is part of our advisory service to understand each student's financial profile and select options that fit their planning.
The process generally includes: (1) choosing universities and courses compatible with your profile; (2) preparing documents — school transcripts, personal statement, recommendation letters, portfolio (when applicable); (3) language certification — IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent; (4) completing the application on university portals; (5) tracking the offers received; (6) enrollment and visa preparation. Gradeup accompanies and guides you through each of these stages and recommends that the student starts the advisory process about 1 year before the departure date.
Proof of proficiency in the language of instruction, through tests such as IELTS or TOEFL, is part of the selection process for international universities. The minimum required level varies according to the chosen university and program. It is worth noting that there are institutions in countries where English is not the official language, such as Germany and France, that offer courses taught entirely in English.

For those who have not yet reached the required level, many of Gradeup's partner universities offer preparatory programs before the main course.
It depends. It is necessary to analyze each case individually, as the need for revalidation varies according to the field of work.

Corporate and Global Market: In areas such as Business, Technology, Marketing, Communication, and Arts, many professionals work in multinational companies in Brazil and abroad without the need for formal degree revalidation. The market values international experience and technical knowledge.

Regulated Professions: For those who intend to practice professions that require registration with professional councils in Brazil — such as Medicine, Law, Engineering, or Psychology — or pursue an academic career in public universities, the revalidation process is mandatory.

Our team of consultants is available to analyze your specific case and advise on the best options for your career.
A study abroad exchange (or sandwich degree) is when the student is already enrolled in a Brazilian university and spends one or two semesters at a university abroad. The subjects taken can be used towards their Brazilian curriculum. A full undergraduate degree abroad is when the student enrolls directly in a foreign university to take the entire 3 to 4-year program, obtaining an international degree. Gradeup works with both modalities.
It is very common for international universities to offer scholarships, usually partial, to international students. Each institution defines its own criteria and processes: in some cases, the scholarship is granted automatically during the application, while in others a specific application is required.
We recommend starting the process approximately 12 months before the start of classes. This timeframe allows for more peace of mind to plan each step and expand the available options, but it is also possible to apply in a shorter period, as we analyze each student's case individually. Starting early increases the chances of securing spots and competing for more competitive scholarships, which usually have earlier application deadlines.
Relying on specialized advisory brings more security, strategy, and peace of mind throughout the process, both for the student and their family. At Gradeup, we help the student choose the best options for their profile, organize each stage of the application, and make more assertive decisions throughout the entire journey.
