Curtin University
Curtin University, named after John Curtin, Prime Minister of Australia from 1941 to 1945, is the largest university in Western Australia, with 58,607 students in 2022. The university has an internal bus network, where autonomous vehicles are being tested.
Since 2007, teaching and research at Curtin University have been organized into five faculties: Centre for Aboriginal Studies, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Science and Engineering.
Curtin University has achieved “Top 10 Australia University” status in 6 of the top 10 global rankings (ARWU, US News, CWUR, Leiden, RUR, URAP). In 2023, it was ranked as the 160th best university globally and 10th in Australia by the US News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings. In addition, Curtin University is among the top 1% of universities in the world and ranks ninth in Australia according to the 2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities.
