Bangor University’s academic activities are organized into three faculties: Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business (Bangor Business School, School of History, Law and Social Sciences, School of Arts, Culture and Language), Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Ocean Sciences), Faculty of Medicine and Health (School of Health Sciences, School of Psychology and Sports Sciences, North Wales Medical School).

Bangor University offers an extracurricular life with over 90 societies and more than 50 sports clubs, including Bangor University FC (soccer) and Bangor University Rowing Club. Every year, the university competes against Aberystwyth University in the Varsity, a sports tournament in which hundreds of students compete in over 40 sporting events for the Varsity Trophy.
