University of Massachusetts Lowell
Located in Lowell, 48 km from Boston, the University of Massachusetts Lowell was founded in 1894 and is the second largest university in the state. There are almost 18,000 students who can choose from more than 120 undergraduate programs, 40 master’s degrees and 30 doctorates. Business, Engineering and Computer Science are among the most popular majors. Lowell’s Professional Cooperative Education program offers students real experience in the job market. About 91% of freshmen receive some kind of financial aid. Over the years, Lowell has opened 12 new buildings, including a new business school, the Riverview Suites and the Mark and Elisia Saab Center for Innovation and Emerging Technology. The Free Wheelers Bike Share program allows students, faculty and staff to borrow bicycles for free.
